Like Google +1?

And the battle is out in the open. Facebook and Google are going at it again, this time over trying to become ubiquitous online.

Facebook took round one by unleashing the like button from the confines of Facebook into the open web, soon the like button started popping up everywhere; from news websites to grandmas personal blog.

Now, Google has launched +1, a recommendation system that helps you tap into your friends preferences and hence make a more informed decision. And its not just about buying decisions, its also about which link you click and which site you visit.

As with any such move the possibilities are immense, who dominates is a matter of how it is applied. At the outset,  I “like” the +1 terminology over Facebook like button, it does not seem as absurd when you recommend a great news report on say a natural disaster.
